Coast 236 Restaurant & Bar hosted its inaugural Cooking Class for Kids: Coast Junior on Saturday morning, March 2, for Kid Chefs aged approximate 8–12. Our Kid Chefs had a blast at our making handmade tortillas, quesadillas, crafting chicken tacos with cheese, chips with mild salsa and guacamole, and chocolate-banana quesadillas.
The last week of February 2019, all of the students at Douglas Elementary School were able to try chickpeas (aka the garbanzo bean) during their DES PTO Real Food Event. The purpose of these events is to allow students to try foods they may not have tried otherwise.
Coast 236 prepared all the chickpeas for the tasting. During the event, students were taught some fun facts about chickpeas as well as nutrient info and recipe suggestions. New, upscale restaurant and bar in former Hercules Bar and Grill space features coastal-inspired food, craft cocktails, and a cozy atmosphere.
