We wanted to let you know that Coast 236 will be closed starting Friday, November 19 and will reopen on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
We found out yesterday that two of our staff have tested positive for COVID. These were breakthrough cases. Neither of the two have been in the building since Sunday, November 14, and the building has been thoroughly cleaned since then. The rest of the staff who worked closely with them were PCR-tested and came back negative.
We pride ourselves on the full experience of dining at Coast 236 — from our decision to limit reservation numbers, giving you the freedom to sit and enjoy a meal instead of being rushed away, to the incredible quality of the ingredients and the culinary flavors of the dishes that come out of the kitchen, to the service from our amazing team. It’s all part of what we have been working to build over the past year at Coast.
With that in mind, we supported Executive Chef Rick Bower’s belief that, while he could have figured out how to serve what was going to be a very busy restaurant this weekend and next, every guest’s experience would have suffered without the complete team intact. It also gives our team a chance to deep clean again, and regroup emotionally from a long several months. It was a hard decision, but we know it’s the right thing to do on every level — business and human.
Like you, we are all so weary of the ups and downs and back and forths that this virus has brought to all of us. We are truly grateful, however, for your continued support and understanding.
